My students are all very unique individuals. They know the second they walk into my classroom they are valued, loved, and respected. That strong bond is what allows me to help them reach their full potential here at school.
All of my students are on Individualized Education Plans and all require different level of support.
For some this is strictly academic. They need help improving their reading, writing, or math skills. Some have social emotional needs and others have behavior goals. We are all part of one community in my classroom. We support and challenge each other and celebrate successes together.
My Project
The high-interest intervention reading folders for grades 2-3 and 4-5 will help my students understand text beyond the basic act of reading. The purpose of reading is to understand and these resources will do that.
Having high interest materials that are engaging but also at the appropriate instructional level make all the difference when it comes to higher student achievement.
These materials are simple and approachable to students, yet they work on the specific skills that many of my students have difficulty with.
These materials will be used in small guided groups this year and in the years to come.
