This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me give my students high interest books to read after recess. Students love our daily read aloud. It is a great way to help students calm down after recess. Many times students come into the classroom after lunch/recess excited and full of energy. Our daily read aloud helps students to regulate themselves so that they are ready for an afternoon of learning.
High interest books foster a love of reading.
By reading books students like with characters that are funny and silly students are able to see how much fun reading can be. Giving students the opportunity to listen to stories they like not only increases engagement but also their comprehension skills.
