This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my fifth grade students are reading far below grade level. In order to meet the needs of all my students, especially my struggling readers, I would like to provide them with low-level, high-interest books to meet their reading needs. Finding books at their reading level, while still keeping them interested in books can be challenging.

It is important to provide students with high-interest books, to encourage all readers to develop a passion for reading.

These series of books, such as Captain Underpants, Diary of Wimpy Kid, and Baby-Sitters Club will provide just that! These books will spark interest in reading, and will also allow students to build their reading libraries at home.
