Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students live by the C.A.R.E.S. core values - Caring, Appreciative, Responsible, Empathetic and Steadfast. All of our students show grit and determination even in the face of uncertainty. Everyday our children show up and we do our best to guide them in their learning process.
We are educating students not only in Literacy and Math but also in personal hygiene.
Our students understand that in order to stay healthy we must implement certain protocols and routines to make sure we all stay healthy.
My Project
With Corona Virus lurking about, the best way to keep our kids safe is with daily hand washing routines. Our Students wash their hands as soon as they get into the classroom before eating breakfast or touching any supplies, before heading to recess, before beginning lunch, after lunch and before gym. They know that the only way to stay healthy and protect each other is by maintaining our own spaces which includes our hands.
My class is amazing about following hand washing protocols and with 22 students and adults in the classroom you can imagine how much soap and hand towels we go through weekly.
Our students REQUESTED the scents being asked for in our project. The soap we were provided is medicinal smelling and harsh on their skin. Please consider helping us stay healthy by donating to our "Cleanliness Cause".
