My Project

It is a near impossible task to summarize the diverse qualities and traits of my students that create our learning community.

For this reason, I have created a project that I believe will help me to best support the unique qualities, individualized needs, and fluid learning goals for each student - both individually and as a collective classroom community.

The materials requested include flexible seating options (lap desks/lap desk storage), as well as portable learning materials (i.e. whiteboards), which will provide opportunities for higher engagement and increased small group opportunities throughout our classroom environment. Additionally, the "Open the Joy" Social and Emotional Learning resources will provide students with the tools to support emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and calming strategies. Implementation of these programs and resources will allow me to address the Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs of my students both proactively and as needed to ensure that they are ready and able to take on the cognitive academic tasks to the best of their ability each day. Lastly, I have requested select learning materials including; Colors of the World drawing materials, crayons/colored pencils, and supply organizers for student tables. These materials will provide students with an enriched learning experience as they are provided with materials that allow them to express themselves creatively and most importantly - authentically. More specifically, the supply organizers requested for these materials will allow me to encourage a heightened sense of responsibility and collective efforts as a member of our classroom community as students collaborate and share supplies.

Together, the materials I have requested for this project will allow me to better support the individualized needs of my students and provide them with the materials to succeed which will directly support the CSDE ESSER priorities of learning acceleration, student enrichment, and support social emotional needs.
