My Students

They love learning and every day is an adventure for them. My students thrive off of the amount of choices in our classroom, and they love hands-on, collaborative projects. The students also love the technology that is currently in our classroom, therefore I know they will be ecstatic to see and be able to use more. My students are creative, intelligent, and they crave a variety of learning experiences. More importantly, they long to express themselves in different ways. Adding more technology into the classroom will allow for them to have different mediums to express themselves and to demonstrate their learning.

My Project

Once our funding requests are met, these Chromebooks will allow for a 2-1 student/device ratio which will enhance the students' digital literacy and collaboration opportunities. Through the use of Google docs, they will be in awe the second they see their classmate working on the same project on their Chromebook, and then seeing the changes show up on their own screen. The Chromebooks also have built in web cams, which will allow the children to communicate with students from all over the world, giving them the opportunity to identify similarities and differences among the cultures. Students will use these Chromebooks at centers and throughout different parts of the day depending on the activity. Using these resources will allow students to increase their critical thinking and problem-solving skills which will help them thrive in today's world. With these devices, my classroom design will become even more suitable for the 21st century learner. Today's children are very tech-savvy and we need to give them opportunities now.
