Help me give my students pet Hermit crabs and their habitats to enhance my science center for an ECER-S Pre-K classroom and to enhance my students learning about aquatic animals.
My students art smart, active and extremely diverse! They come from many different cultures and backgrounds in the District 20 area of Brooklyn, New York. The students many different backgrounds, and different languages spoken at home provide for a well cultured mix of students who all learn differently. Each of my students will benefit from the project I have created for my classroom. My students are active learners who love to participate in science experiments ! My students love learning about the needs, and responsibilities required for taking care of living things! They will love observing, predicting and recording their observations of the Hermit Crabs! Please help fund my classroom to help enhance learning for my students!
My Project
Help enhance our science center in our classroom by providing hermit crabs and a hermit crab habitat. Science is key to learning in a Pre-K classroom. With live animals in the science center, children will be given multiple opportunities for exploration, asking questions, making predictions, observations and socialization with their peers. Students will learn all about how hermit crabs live, how they make their homes, what hermit crabs eat and how to care for a living thing responsibly and independently. Students will also have the option of taking the hermit crabs home to care for them over the weekend, and take on a responsibility.
