Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with a targeted group of 9th grade disadvantaged minority students to provide support, guidance, resources, and tutorials to ensure they pass all of their classes to be eligible to attend a university. Aside from the academic support, I like to focus on character development and building their self-esteem and confidence.

My goal is to provide self care and personal hygiene items to my students so that they show up to school with confidence and ready to show the best version of themselves.

Last year I made personal hygiene items available to students and I was surprised by their needs and that they felt comfortable requesting specific items, which I did my best to provide.

I want students to have access to items they need to take care of their physical needs, which can in turn positively impact their emotional well being. Thank you for believing in my project and in my students.
