Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 20 students attend a Title I school and most are learning English as a second language. Although their community is characterized as under-served, my students come to school with positive energy and are excited to learn to speak and read in English!
It is astonishing to see how thirsty they are to read new books with great stories.
They also love creating their own stories and are super curious about math! My students enjoy coming to school every day. I try and make learning fun throughout the year, so they continue to have a positive school experience!
My Project
Our school is focusing on learning about student's curiosities through inquiry. We are so excited that our classroom has just received 4 iPads to use to investigate and document areas of focus chosen by the students.
My students are so excited to be able to use technology to learn about topics of their choice!
To complete our iPad center in our classroom, we need a color printer that will print out research, document learning and help with a QR project we will be working on throughout the school year.
The classroom also needs an iPad charging station to make our technology accessible every day! We cannot wait to see how far these tools will take us and where our curiosities will lead us in our learning!
