Here We Go Again!:Walking Down the Road of Creativity

Help me give my students the materials they need to start the year off great. Glue sticks, pencils, writing pads and even a flash drive to save all their typed work, projects and codes.

My Students

We are a Science & Engineering school with a focus on introducing our students to STEM. Our goal is to improve the lives of our students by preparing them for future careers in Science, Technology as well as advocacy & diplomacy. We service all students and currently several of our classes are ICT and 12:1:1.

Next year we are welcoming four (4) 8th grade classes.

Several will be ICT classes and all students will work collaboratively, engaging in several science & engineering challenges as well as learning about technology and being exposed to several STEAM concepts, as we incorporate Art into our STEM program.

Students will be studying about Mars, Solar Systems, Reproduction and more. Students will research & design several models and hands on activities as well as conducting research on field trips. Our classroom must be organized in a manner that allows all students to store materials, access materials, move around easily and design models as they are learning.

My Project

The use of materials such as pencils, paper, crayons & markers are used daily in every activity in my classroom, especially in science. Using the engineering model my students come to class with great anticipation that they will be analyzing, researching and creating a model of any phenomena that they are studying.

Having basic materials such as pencils, paper & rulers at the start of each class allows me to not waste time asking about supplies but to get to the heart of my teaching.

If they need materials, after I see exactly what my students need, I am able to meet those needs in a respectful and caring manner. What becomes a problem is when students are unable to buy these supplies and they come to school unprepared and I don't have enough supplies for everyone.

By anticipating the needs of my students and planning how to organize my classroom as well as having color coded folders to organize each group, or having glue sticks and binder pencil pouches for their supplies, students will be able to avoid the need to run around asking classmates to lend them supplies and focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic materials and projects at hand, and not whether they have materials to complete their work.
