My students need flexible seating within our classroom as well as 8th-grade resources in order to better help, support and prepare them.

My Students

The students within our building are innovative, creative, and passionate. My students are not only those things but they are also Special Education students looking to fit in and find their way.

My students are passionate about Math, English/Language Arts, Science and all other subjects.

They work hard day in and day out and enjoy learning. My students learn in a number of different ways and resources are always needed in order to help make their educational experiences great ones!

My Project

The flexible seating requested in my project is beyond beneficial. I have requested 3 Balance Balls as well as 3 Wiggle Seats. Students first get to practice choice in choosing which way they learn best in terms of seating. Flexible seating helps students get their wiggles out while not distracting others around them. Flexible seating not allows students to wiggle but helps them focus better, stay on task more and helps with their overall success. I plan to allow students to sit and use Balance Balls or Wiggle Seats within my classroom on a daily basis.

This is my first year as a teacher in the 8th grade.

The reproducible workbooks requested will not only serve as a resource and teaching tool with my students but will better prepare me for their success on mastering standards. I will use these workbook pages as bellwork first thing as students enter my room. It allows them to work independently on skills while knowing that we will go over it as a class later and they can ask questions. Pages will be used as practice tools in student folders to help reinforce and check for understanding.

Both these seating options and workbook resources will benefit the students in being the best that they can be. It will give them choice, opportunities for growth, flexibility and better support.
