This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My class and I recently visited the school library. There the librarian read a book about a gingerbread house. To help them develop their engineering she challenged them to build a gingerbread house using blocks. The students absolutely LOVED this activity and did not want to leave the library. So, I had an "a-ha" moment and thought, "How come I had never thought about giving them time to build and explore their engineering skills?"

I would love to give my wonderful students the opportunity to build and explore, develop, and possibly love their engineering skills.

My boy-heavy class loves building things and they will surely enjoy doing this during science time, but also during rainy days. What do you say?
