Helping Young Journalists Share Stories That Matter

Help me give my students equipment that will help them feel like real reporters as they capture stories from every corner of our school community.

My Project

My students are curious, creative, and full of energy—they love telling stories, asking questions, and connecting with others. As members of our middle school News Club, they’re developing real-world communication skills through filming, interviewing, and reporting. They take pride in representing their peers and creating a broadcast that informs, celebrates, and inspires our school community.

This project will allow us to take our newsroom beyond the studio.

The portable microphones and XLR cables will give students professional-quality sound for hallway interviews and event coverage. The USB-C cables and charging station will keep our devices ready to go, while the iPad mount and dolly tripod will let students record hands-free and steady footage in any space. The clip-on lighting ensures our reports look clear and polished, even in dimly lit hallways or classrooms. Finally, the storage bins will help us stay organized and keep our equipment safe and accessible. With these tools, my students can report from anywhere on campus—bringing our school’s stories to life, one segment at a time.
