My students learn best with hands-on experiments and firsthand looks at things. They have a great enthusiasm for learning math and science and this school year, I will be teaching ELA and Social Studies as well. We are from a Title I school.
My students come to school with an eagerness to learn.
We are a Title I school. I want to grow my students' curiosity to learn by showing them that learning can be fun. Mrs. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series always said, "Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!" My class does this with hands-on learning and STEAM. My classroom is a fun and inviting place to learn. I have hands-on activities every day. My goal is to introduce students to science in a fun way and inspire students to want to pursue a career in science. I also have a goal to inspire students to have a love of learning for years to come. I want to also teach my students how to show empathy and to be caring. We want to help our fellow students at our school and in our community that could be experiencing financial difficulties or homeless / homelessness.
My Project
Many students fall behind in school due to financial worries, worrying about having basic needs. This creates frustration in the children, the feeling of inadequacy, and a downhill slope in self-esteem and school grades. It is my goal to lift these children up by providing them with basic personal needs and academic support that will level the field for them at school. I am requesting underwear , socks, leggings, lice kits, and sanitary pads to help these students in need.
Students attending school, fully equipped, experience a huge boost in morale overall and they are more eager to learn when not having the added stress of where to get clean clothes and take care of their basic needs.
