Helping the Teacher Teach

Help me give my students a wireless keyboard, an anti-fatigue floor mat, a wireless laser mouse, and wrist rests for a better teaching experience by having the teacher use an ergonomic set up to teach.

My Students

As a teacher in a high poverty school district, I work with students that are faced with challenges in and outside the classroom. Despite the challenges my students face, they persevere. My students are high energy, communicative, and enthusiastic learners. They have a lot of energy and are always looking for a fun way to learn. They love to get involved with the lesson in whatever way possible.

My students love to show off their work and teach their peers.

They are excited to teach each other, both in groups and in front of the class. My students are visual learners. They love to use different resources in the room to show learning strategies to their friends. The students are a great group of mathematicians, scientists, writers, ​and artists.

My Project

For the safety of both myself and my students, I spend most of the day in a six foot corner of the room. Although I know it is safer for my students, I don't know that I am giving them the best education being stuck in the same spot all day. Although we have many, many stretch and movement breaks built into our day, I worry that I am not working in an ergonomic way.

Having a wireless keyboard and mouse will allow me more flexibility in where I work in the room, the keyboard and mouse pads will allow for ergonomic work, and the floor mat will allow me to sustain standing on the concert floor for long hours.

I recently read that sitting is the new smoking; these ergonomic items will help me be more comfortable while teaching remotely and give my students a better education.
