This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My science students eagerly anticipate the start of the school year to reunite with their friends and make progress in their high school journey. The beginning of the school year is a mix of excitement and uncertainty. Students feel anxious and stressed as they try to figure out if they will have classes with their friends and who they will have lunch with. My students are eager to achieve good grades and pass all their classes, but they worry about their academic performance and the possibility of not graduating on time. Many students are newcomers and they need time and support to adjust to their new country.

The slime and stress balls will help students alleviate stress.

The pens, pencils, and erasers with inspirational messages will serve as reminders that they are capable and can succeed. The pencil pouches will provide students with a means to keep their materials organized. Many students cannot afford school supplies so these basic supplies will ease their worries. A successful start to the school year sets the tone for the entire year. Students need reassurance that they are on the path to success.

Thank you for assisting me in starting the school year by providing my students with the tools to manage the stress and anxiety that come with the beginning of a new academic year.
