This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My first graders always walk in with smiles on their faces, ready to learn. They always strive for academic readiness no matter what the situation is.
This pandemic with COVID-19 and the winter storm that hit Texas this weekend has caused an enormous amount of social emotional stress on my students and parents.
My students come from a very low socio-economic area, with very few resources to engage them in learning. The students that make up my classroom are 99% low income and at risk for dropping out before finishing high-school.
I want to build a stress free foundation in my classroom, so when they leave my classroom they are motivated and excited about learning. I want them to carry the passion of learning with them forever. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated.
My Project
Purchasing these Clorox wipes, Lysol wipes, Lysol Spray, Kleenex tissue paper, and lanyard badge holders needed for school will be a tremendous strain on the families. This will help parents who may have lost their jobs or parents that are laid off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This project could help them be stress free and have one less thing to worry about. The donations for this project will keep the classroom clean and disinfected and will help eliminate the spread of the virus among my students. I believe that every child deserves a safe and clean environment in order to have a successful school.
