My name is Courtney Kirby, and I am a school social worker at a public charter school in Cincinnati, Ohio. I serve students in grades KG-8. My students are absolutely amazing! Many of them have experienced significant trauma in their lives, and have preserved through extreme challenges.
While I am able to offer students food through our school pantry, I do not currently have a budget for hygiene products.
My students ask for products such as deodorant, soap, and toothpaste regularly. We all know that when you look good, you feel good, and I want to help my students feel good about themselves when they walk into our building. Having basic hygiene products also significantly decreases instances of bullying.
