We are a college preparatory high school where instruction is organized through small learning communities, so each student is able to build powerful relationships with teachers while engaging in rigorous academic, artistic, and athletic pursuits.
The majority of our students come from low-income households.
As a school community, we work to incorporate the cultural and experiential contributions of the students who enter the school building. We encourage students to believe in themselves, to feel appreciated, and to discover their own value.
Being organized and having a designated place to keep your work is important for student success. Without binders and dividers, it can become difficult for students to keep track of their work and assignments.
When students have an organizational system in place, they complete more work and have more successful outcomes.
Students have a tendency to shove assignments from all of their classes into one folder if they don't have a binder. This creates a situation where papers get buried and, when it comes time to complete the work and turn it in, the papers often end up getting overlooked.
