My Students
My students are smart, dedicated, loving, and highly motivated students from low income and difficult backgrounds. Many of my students don't have a safe and loving home to go to after school. Many come from toxic and stressful backgrounds and need an escape. Despite their home environments, they are always smiling and eager to learn and they truly motivate me daily. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the methods by which and environments in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each students' needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible and bright group, and I am blessed to have the privilege of teaching them and learning from them daily!
My Project
Students shouldn't have to worry about falling behind in school because they don't have the resources they need such as paper, pens, and pencils. Some students struggle to have a meal every day, so why should school supplies be another thing to worry about? Help me get my students these supplies so they all have an equal chance at success and can focus on working hard and paying attention instead of how they're going to get pencils and paper to complete their work assignments. My job is to empower and support students and being prepared will allow me to do this!
