My students need a set place to sit during whole group time which will allow them to focus on what is being taught. This will also allow easy access to partners and teams. We need a rug.

My Students
I have a wonderful group of students in a Title I school. Most of my students are native Spanish speakers and spend half of the day in a Spanish classroom (mine) and the other half of the day in an English classroom making them fully bilingual in Spanish and English by 9th grade.
All of my students come from extremely low socioeconomic backgrounds.
100% of my students are on free or reduced lunch. However, their parents care so much about their success. I spend more time with my students than most of their parents can due to having to work to make ends meet.
My students are a family. They go through the same struggles and face very similar challenges. Most of them have been together since Kindergarten and will continue together until high school graduation because of the way our school's Dual Immersion is set up. My students are "my kids" and I want to do anything and everything I can to help them be successful.
My Project
This will improve my student's learning by improving our transition time from small group learning/practice/centers to whole group math. When students come up to the front for whole group learning, there is usually a lot of time wasted waiting for students to find a spot on the ground and figuring out where to put their materials. This is time that could be used for instruction.
Each student will have an assigned spot minimizing distractions and allowing students to focus on the material being taught.
It will help them learn to collaboratively speak with each other and work together as a team to find answers to math problems.
