My Project
As an occupational therapist working with special education students, I am continually inspired by their resilience, creativity, and determination. Each of my students brings a unique set of strengths and perspectives to our school community. What makes them truly special is their unwavering perseverance and joy when they achieve something new—whether it’s zipping a jacket, focusing through a task, or playing cooperatively with a peer.
To support their growth, I am requesting Blaze Pods, a dynamic and engaging tool that lights up and responds to movement.
These pods will help my students improve motor planning, visual attention, reaction time, and coordination—all essential components for classroom readiness and functional independence. The interactive lights and touch response system make learning fun and engaging for students who thrive on movement and sensory input. For example, students with difficulty sustaining attention during tabletop tasks will benefit from movement-based activities using the pods to increase alertness and focus before returning to academic learning.
Blaze Pods also offer a unique opportunity to strengthen visual tracking skills. Visual tracking is critical for reading across a page, copying from the board, and writing within lines. Many of my students struggle with eye movement control, which can cause fatigue, letter reversals, and difficulty maintaining focus on text.

This project will allow me to deliver targeted, meaningful interventions that feel like play—but support real, measurable progress in occupational therapy goals.
