My students come in all sorts and sizes. Each has their own learning challenges and thrive to become independent learners. Our classroom works extremely hard on having our students mainstreamed into regular education classrooms as much as possible.
My special education students have learning challenges - such as Autism, Emotionally Disturbed, ADHD, Specific Learning Disability, Fragile X, etc.
Each student wants to be successful in school and "fit" into the mainstream.
Many have sensory issues. It's difficult to sit still, some times they feel the environment is too loud, speaking and writing are a challenge, etc. They need a more creative way to learn. The fidgets and spiky gadgets will help calm them so they can focus.
My Project
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating option choices. The wobble stools will fit at tables and still allow some movement which is beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. The pencils and pencil grips will help make writing easier.
Whatever we can do to help them overcome and be successful is fantastic.
The products will help my students overcome sensory issues. Many of my students have multiple services; such as occupational therapy, counseling and speech/language services. These products sensory products will help my students gain independence in the regular classroom.
