Helping Readers Build Their Love and Foundation for Reading

My Students

Working as a reading specialist, I have the opportunity to touch the lives of children who have challenges while learning to read. It is a gift to give them the tools, confidence, and passion to be a reader.

Unlocking the magic of reading for students with all types of learning styles is my passion.

Providing tools for all learning styles is my goal. Giving my student the gift of reading success is my story. Having tools to assist varying types of learners is necessary assist them in reaching academic success.

My Project

Students who have challenges in reading need a visual cueing system to assist them as they tackle decoding strategies. The Sound Spelling Teaching Cards will be used to assist them as they build their toolbox for learning. Knowing how to decode will decrease the anxiety that some have for reading and increase the opportunity to build their love for reading. Getting their hands on engaging text where parents read half of the book and the student reads the other allows families to engage in the learning process. Thank you for your support in assisting them in unlocking their love of reading.
