Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students from Washington are unique individuals who really want to succeed in life to better their families' lives. These children work hard and have hopes and dreams of one day escaping poverty through education.
My middle schoolers really enjoy dramatic readings.
They beam with excitement when they are able to act out and read for the class. Most of my students are fairly low in their reading and writing abilities, so acting out scenes and providing visuals is very important to them when learning.
My Project
These materials will be very beneficial in our classroom. These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they can help me modify the work so that they are able to get a better understanding.
The colored pens will be a big help when the students are writing their essays.
The students are to use the red, green , and blue pens to color code their writing. An example of this would be: Concrete details are written in red ink, and commentary is written in green. This helps the students make sure that they are not missing any type of element in an essay.
The binders will be given out to the students who need them. The students use their binders to organize their work for all their classes. This helps make sure that they are prepared for class and well organized.
The markers and poster paper will be used when the students are completing group work. We often display all our group work around the class so that students are able to bounce ideas off each other.
