My Students

My co-teacher and I are thrilled to teach at a linguistically and culturally diverse Title I school, and serve the most incredible students and families. We teach 30 4th graders. Of our 30 students almost a third of our students are English language learners. Our students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!

In our class community we thrive on relationships and life-experiences, which allows us to embrace diversity in our classroom to the greatest potential.

Our wonderful students come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are our inspiration!

My Project

The materials and supplies requested will allow for a more diverse classroom library, so that students are able to see themselves as they read books of their choice. Students will be able to have more organization with their laptops as they struggle daily to have a charged laptop. Having that resource in our class will allow students to be ready for the day ahead with a battery of 100%.

Having diverse books, and comfortable seating, and tech supplies for students will allow them to not only be ready for the learning day, but to conquer the academic day!

Each day we allow students time to read and the end of that time they are most not ready to move on because they are "hooked" in their physical books, or online stories being read. We love that my students have such a passion for reading and wanting to learn to read.
