All students can learn! This is not just a catch phrase, I actually believe it. I teach in a 5th grade Dual Immersion Portuguese Program. I have two classes that I teach language arts and math to daily, these students spend the other half of their day learning in Portuguese. My students work hard and are engaged in active learning throughout their day. My students are motivated to learn and enjoy self-directed learning projects. They work hard and are excited to learn new things.
My Project
This year my students are constantly looking for their basic supplies, like scissors, pencils, and whiteboard markers! I'm hoping to add to my classroom supplies in order to increase instructional time. With resources being readily available to students they will be able to transition and be ready to participate in the classroom quickly. I incorporate a lot of hands-on learning with interactive journals that require students to cut, color, and glue frequently, additional resources will facilitate this process.
I have also included some prizes to restock my prize bin.
These prizes include a variety of small knickknacks, such as small containers of slime, cube puzzles, and squishy toys. Each week, I draw tickets and the students win prizes. Students earn tickets by being prepared and working hard in class. I am always searching for unique prizes that will help to motivate my students and I have included some great prize finds in this project. My students will be so excited when they see the new prizes I have found for them. I will use these prizes as incentives for students to work hard.
