This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 6th and 7th grade English Language Arts at a Title 1 school. I have 3 classes of about 20 students each. Out of all my students, about 1/3 are either SPED or ESL (sometimes both). Most of my students read and perform below grade level, but they all work hard to succeed!

Middle school can be such a challenging time for kids, but I try to make my classroom environment fun and engaging.

By giving them a safe space to communicate and debate, they come to school excited to learn!

My Project

Taking notes has always been more of a chore in my overly bright classroom, and I'm hoping to shake things up a bit. This easel (with the paper and markers) will help my class create helpful posters of notes to hang around our room! Additionally, the light covers will help make my room warm and inviting, allowing the students to focus more.

With these new supplies, my students will be able to focus more on our lessons, and also create new reference materials to aid them in their learning.

I would love a chance to give my students new ways to take in information, while at the same time sitting in a comfortable classroom. Please help us reach our goal!
