it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a school counselor of an inner-city elementary school. I work mainly with students in Pre-K to 2nd grade. I am in charge of doing a variety of lessons and activities on different social emotional topics. Some of those topics include feelings and emotions, coping skills, problem solving, test taking strategies and working hard. Over the years I have found that children work best with hands-on creative activities that include a variety of medias, such as board games, colored pencils, and crayons. They enjoy relevant up to date materials and books.
The students at my school have a love for learning.
They want to learn how to be productive members of our society and have many creative ideas on how to make sure they learn. This can be expensive and unfortunately, schools today just don't have the resources to continue to maintain the resources needed every year to make sure this happens. Many times, this responsibility falls on the educator. Because of our love for the children in front of us we do the best we can. In these hard times in today's society, any assistance we can receive is greatly needed and appreciated. Any supplies that are received will be put to good use. Thank you in advance.
