Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are some of the most hard-working and creative children you’ll ever meet. They come from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and many of them face daily challenges that go far beyond the classroom. Despite this, they show up ready to learn, grow, and dream.

Unfortunately, during fun school events like Dr. Seuss Week, Red Ribbon Week, 12 Days of Christmas, Counselor Appreciation Week, Library Week, and Testing Days, many of my students are unable to participate in dress-up days because they simply can’t afford the themed shirts or costumes.

While others come in bright colors and fun shirts, many of my students come in their regular uniform or clothes, not because they don’t want to join in, but because they can’t.
