Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 72 explorers and I learn together in our outer space themed classroom. I get the opportunity to teach reading, writing, and word work to a variety of different learners. My little astronauts are given the opportunity to decide how they learn best through flexible seating. This allows students to remain engaged and active during the learning process.
My students come from different backgrounds, but they know that in our classroom they are loved, respected, and successful as we explore the wide world of 2nd grade.
My Project
My flexible seating initiative will help my explorers to remain engaged and comfortable as they are given the option to choose where and how they learn best. These items will allow my students to take control of their own learning!
Whether they choose to sit on a stability ball, wobble stool, or a traditional chair with a band for movement, they will be successful because they are able to choose.
These items will help students work productively while they are given the freedom to move and wiggle.
As an educator, we must give students a welcoming and safe place to learn. These flexible seating options will help my learners to come to school every day excited to learn and ready to take on the day in comfort!
