My students need incentives to help them feel accomplishment. I use smell stickers to show mastery and use of a laptop for our " star student".We need hand gel to fight "germs" on the keyboards !
My K-3rd grade students attend our charter school in the financial and academic district of Camden, New Jersey. Our school focuses on personal excellence in education and our students are a mirror of these principals. Our students are wonderful kids who love learning, creating and developing.
Most of my students come from homes without computers and limited or no internet access.
This fact, creates a sense of urgency, as a teacher, to provide the students with as much technological experiences possible.
My Project
My young students need a great deal of incentives to encourage them during my class. I have been spending a great deal from my paycheck for incentives and could use a helping hand in this area. My students love smell stickers and I place one on their hand when they meet the class objective. They look forward to them so much. I would love a Chromebook to use as a "star student" award. One prize student could use the Chromebook instead of a desktop for a period. This would be "BIG" for our kids! Finally, we need hand gel to fight those pesky germs on our shared keyboards.
