Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school has had a large influx of migrant students this school year. Most of these are refugee students who have limited clothes, especially winter wear to stay warm.

The goal of this project is to help our migrant/refugee students stay warm during this winter season.

Chicago is a city that gets extremely cold, and most of our students commute to school and home with public transportation or by walking,. Therefore, this project for sweatshirts would help them hugely.

Many times, students are also cold inside the school in classes. A sweatshirt would help them stay warm, feel comfortable, and be able to focus in school.

What makes our students special is that they are eager to learn. They have gone through so many obstacles and challenges to be in this country and would feel special and valued with receiving such item.
