Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Helping little minds one seat at a time, is helping students concentrate and learn in an easier way. I teach kindergarten and at that age or any age it is hard to sit still or sit in a chair for a long time. I can not sit still so why would I make my students. Flexible seating will help give students not only a choice, but a way to sit in their own way and help them focus more. With flexible seating, they will get to choose their spot for the day to do their work and listen to lessons. I have researched and seen flexible seating in classrooms and not only does in improve focus but it helps with behavior as well. It will also free up room in the classroom, with flexible seating I am able to get rid some of the tables and chairs in the room leaving lots of space for students to move around and learn. An open environment for the students can be less stressful for them and keep them calm. My goals are to improve focus and behavior and I believe kindergartners would need this the most because they are young and full of wiggles. Please help our little minds, one seat at a time.
