Helping Kids Heal Through Play

Help me give my students therapeutic toys that foster their emotional expression, self-regulation and healing through play.

My Project

I love how resilient and open-hearted my students are, even when they face trauma, anxiety, or behavioral challenges. Each child brings unique strengths and perspectives, and they all want to be understood and supported.

The play doctor kit, cash register, play kitchen set, dollhouse and other therapeutic toys I’m requesting will help my students express their emotions safely and build important self-regulation skills.

These tools allow children to process difficult feelings through play, which supports their emotional growth and helps reduce anxiety and disruptive behaviors. Research shows play improves behavior by 83% in children facing trauma, anxiety and behavioral challenges.

My goal is to create a welcoming space where students feel empowered to explore their feelings and develop coping strategies. By strengthening their emotional skills, these resources will improve their ability to focus, learn, and engage positively both in school and in life.
