My Students

My students are all excited about being in 5th grade and the leaders of our school. They are developing social skills as their peers become more important to them. They are learning to work well together and respect each other, even in disagreements. They are cooperative with me, and we have fun with each other.

My fifth graders love to show what they know!

They love collaborating in small groups and presenting their achievements to their peers. They appreciate each other's creativity and efforts, and they are always respectful when sharing projects.

My Project

My students have now had two years of disrupted learning schedules. Even before COVID-19, students struggled to stay in their seats for long periods of time. Since COVID-19, they seem more restless. Maybe it's because they're not used to 5-day weeks in the classroom, or maybe they are feeling extra stress from the pandemic.

I believe these resources for alternative seating will give my students some relief as I expect them to catch up on the learning they've missed.

The cushions, Bouncy Bands, yoga balls, and wobble attachments will make my students more comfortable during the day and give them an opportunity to wiggle or fidget while they are working.
