As an ELA teacher, I have the pleasure of serving students from all backgrounds. Many of my students that I serve are ELL newcomer students. Many of these students come from places all around the world. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and ideas. These students also have a large amount of trauma and stress that is placed on them. From trying to quickly learn how to speak, read, and write in English and with PTSD from past experiences.
With the materials in this project, my goal is to make the students feel more at home when they are at school by giving them a comfy place to sit and do classwork.
My students are deserving of a place to feel comfortable and safe. With your donation, we are a step closer to these goals for our kiddos.
