Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a reading teacher I have the pleasure of serving students from all backgrounds. Many of my students that I serve are ELL newcomer students. Many of these students come from places all around the world. The bring with them a wealth of knowledge and ideas. These students also have a large amount of trauma and stress that is placed on them. From trying to quickly learn how to speak, read, and write in English and with PTSD from past experiences.
With the materials in this project my goal is to make the students feel more at home when they are at school by giving them a comfy place to sit and do class work.
My students are deserving of a place to feel comfortable and safe. With your donation we will be able to get a table, artwork, throw pillows, and hanging plants helping us be one step closer to these goals for our kiddos.
