Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many students may not have technology in their homes or have access only when technology is available at school. Therefore, it is imperative that we increase access to technology to students in order to improve student learning.

My students are ready and willing to jump into the wonderful world of technology; however they are lacking the necessary technology to support their journey.

The iPad mini has amazing applications that will enhance student learning in all areas of the curriculum. My students are energetic high school students who are eager to learn. My class is composed of a diverse group of students from varying socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. The iPad mini provides applications which are designed to meet the individual learning styles of each student. The case is designed to protect the ipad Mini. This project will give my students the opportunity to focus on learning math and reading in a small-group setting, while some of the other students work independently on iPads. The applications will not only benefit my struggling learners and my students with special needs, but will also enhance the average and exceptional student's learning.

My Project

The technology found on iPads will be used to guide my students as they become independent learners. This durable case will protect the iPad Mini. The applications I have found on the iPad Mini not only build math fluency, but also enhance the student's reading and comprehension skills. The math and reading applications offer self-checking activities that reinforce all of the current high school Common Core Standards. Our class is fortunate to have one iPad dedicated to support students learning in math and reading. One more iPad Mini will enhance our technology center and allow more students to have access to this technology. In addition, we need to secure an iPad mini case that will protect this valuable iPad Mini. This iPad will be used to support all of our math and language arts standards. It provides a stimulating, exciting hands-on learning experience for all students.

Students are always excited to learn through technology. The applications promote higher level thinking and allow students to create and apply their understanding of what they are learning.
