This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the nurse in the building, I am the one the kids come to see for all the scratches, scrapes, and boo-boos that happen during the school day.
The kids know they have my support and having daily access to free and necessary health supplies helps make them feel safe and cared about when not home.
Helping the kids during what can be a scary moment and seeing their tears dry up is what makes my day the best! Many families can not afford some of the basics and being able to provide them with enough supplies(bandages, cough drops, etc.) to last a weekend or several days is very impactful.
