This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a second year, fourth grade teacher. I work with an awesome group of thirty kids! We are a diverse group that make up the family of our room!
I love teaching this group of students because they are hard working and try their best to further their understanding.
They are always working to demonstrate a growth mindset and to be kind. I enjoy seeing them demonstrate and apply their understanding to everyday tasks. Watching them learn and grow every day is so rewarding!
My Project
When learning fractions, students can easily become discouraged over this concept. The math manipulatives in this fractions & decimals hands-on teaching kit are great for students to use, visually and kinesthetically, to strengthen their conceptual understanding. There's more to math than just procedural understanding!
The art rack would greatly help my students' artwork to dry safely without getting damaged in the process.
In the past, we have tried drying in the hallway or around the room. As a result, the artwork would crinkle around the edges or become imprinted with shoe prints! My students love to create, and I would love to have a spot where their creations are safe and undamaged!
