My Project
Our library learning commons is a wonderful space filled with a diverse collection of books for students. However, there is one essential element that we currently lack.
We need effective, durable, and permanent signage to assist students in navigating the library and easily finding what they need.
At present, we have paper signs taped to the shelves, which serve their purpose but could be much more visually appealing. Our learning commons is scheduled to get new student-friendly book browsing bins in the new year. Having sign holders to put on the bins would help students transition to the new shelving and allow them to find the materials they want.
With flexible sign holders, we can adapt to changing student needs or library collections. The shelf signs will showcase popular fiction and nonfiction series, making it easier for students to locate them. This approach is particularly beneficial for struggling readers, as they can identify the series by its logo rather than searching through call numbers, allowing for quicker access to books. Implementing these signs will elevate the overall experience of our library and enhance its appearance!
