My Project
There are so many people in our community that help us grow. Like the old proverb states, "It takes a village to raise a child." This is one of the reasons why we study community helpers and how they help us in our community and how to become good citizens. Often, my students have a very limited knowledge of the community in which they live and all the things and people who are in it to help them learn and grow.
These costumes will allow for students to dress up like the helpers we are learning about and apply what they have learned into their dramatic play.
These costumes will be placed throughout our centers and will allow for students to take the lead role as the veterinarian, doctor, hair stylist or meteorologist. This will also allow for other students to take on supportive roles as customers and patients. These costumes will allow for students to practice real life scenarios adults experience on a daily basis. It will allow them to not only learn about the job people do but allow them to incorporate new vocabulary into their play as well.
