This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

90% of our amazing students live below or near the poverty line. About 60% of our students are learning English in school. Sometimes our school struggles to get the resources we need to teach and care for our incredible students. This makes the job of a school even more important.

Many students we teach experience poverty, but that's just where they are starting.

Our students love to create art and read. They write computer code and even perform Shakespeare. They have big dreams, but they need to work hard now. Help them reach for those dreams!

My Project

The kids in my class are full of stories about special sleepovers, their first time on a rollercoaster, and even getting a surprise puppy. I want to help them turn these stories into real books.

The only problem is that we don't have the pencils and paper to turn their ideas into real books-- let's change that!

By choosing this project, you will be sending kids paper and pencil that we can staple and turn into real books that kids can share with their families and friends. You will also be sending kids the tools they need to take their stories from ideas to published books such as post-its and markers.
