This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in my classroom deserve more than they are being given as poverty is not something they can control. As an art teacher, I am committed to intervene in a loving, supportive, and nurturing way to break the cycle of poverty, neglect, abuse, delinquency and violence that destroys the lives of our children. Through the experiences of visual arts, I can provide my students with enrichment and inspiration for our children to learn to be productive, creative, law-abiding citizens of society!
My Project
My amazing middle schoolers need your help, coming this spring they will be utilizing an Art Garden grant! We will be creating an outdoor classroom for the entire school to enjoy by learning outside! My art students will be creating outdoor artwork as well as hand planting the flowers, herbs and bushes! However, they need a few more things to get everything going, including: shovels, garden hose, snacks, and scholastic magazines for those who won’t be working on the garden. All of these items are critical for the coming spring and it would be a lot for me to have to buy it all myself—but maybe you can help!
