My students need crayons, pencils, markers, and basic supplies. We are currently out of school supplies. I have asked my parents to donate and only three out of my twenty-eight students were able to donate. Please help.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic and eager to learn. They are motivated to gain knowledge and look forward to new challenges. My class is full of energy. They have a love for learning which inspires me. They explore their world through hands-on experiences and work to create learning opportunities that are sparked by my students' interest, questions, and building upon their prior knowledge. I would love to bring more materials into my classroom to enhance my curious learners. In my class, we spend time ensuring that students have the opportunity to teach each other. They have opportunities to share what they find by learning through one another.
My school is a K-8 public school in a low-income community located southeast of Chicago.
The majority of the students receive free lunch and many deal with a lot of challenges in their community.
My Project
My school only gives us $250 a year to spend on supplies, anything more than that must come out of my pocket. These materials will help my students to engage in learning. We used the majority of these materials on a daily basis and would like to receive more materials. They are essential to us.
We use the glue sticks and scissors to enhance our fine motor skills.
Pencils and crayons are used on a daily basis and a lot my students come to school unprepared to work, therefore I provide the materials that I have available. I would love to have a classroom where each of my students will be able to have their own materials.
