My Project
Through my 30+ years of teaching experience, I have taught many reading series. I have waded my way through stories that engaged students to keep reading and watched students yawn their way through the text. Quite possibly, that was me doing the yawning.
Scholastic Storyworks gives my students options to read!
I want to be able to put another form of printed material in my students' hands. I want them to be able to choose an article and grow from it. I want my students to read current events and topics that they can relate to in their own lives. Storyworks magazines are full of color and entice readers with seasonal topics, dramas and plays, nonfiction events, etc. There are also differentiated activities to include for discussion and assessment. Storyworks provides options for whole class discussions or independent reading.
