While I wanted them to celebrate with a snack, it turned out I discovered how many students were hungry halfway through the morning. For whatever reason even though breakfast is served at school, I had students who were hungry. No one is able to perform at peak capacity with a hungry feeling. The snacks I received helped to combat first week hunger and also commemorate a special day. Memories are made when food is shared. I wasn't sure what to request, but I did not want this opportunity to be missed. Day. 1 with the donut seats and picnic table was a huge success. Having these supplies gives me the opportunity to break the monotony of sitting in seats in so many ways.Again, this is just day 1.\r\nI set the tone for collaboration today. Students understood the rules of moving and also knew the consequence of losing the privilege to move. Moving to a new space became a valuable privilege that no one wanted to risk. I would be remiss if I failed to mention the lure of bouncing on those donut pillows, and I even gave it a try when my classroom was empty. However, not one student bounced or used the donut seats incorrectly because sitting in spaces other than desks is like a golden ticket. \r\nThank you for making this possible in my classroom.
