Help! We Need Software For Our Classroom Mac!

My Students

Were you one of those students that had trouble in reading or in math? Maybe you found it boring or maybe you just didn't learn in the traditional way. My goal is to use technology to introduce non-traditional ways for my students to learn everything they need to be successful in life.

Students in my classroom are part of a lower economic community.

Many students come from a nearby Native American reservation. Most of the students take advantage of the free or reduced breakfast and lunch program. Their families are struggling financially and sometimes lack things such as books and supplies that their children need to succeed. Additionally, my students are part of the special education program. They all have a learning disability which impacts their abilities in Reading, Writing, and Math. They are all completely capable of succeeding in school and going on to college one day, but they just need to be taught in a different way than their general education peers.

My Project

My students need Microsoft Office for Mac software to use with our new classroom computer. Thanks to the generosity of many donor's here on Donor's Choose, my classroom just received a Macintosh Lap Book! We are so excited. However, it doesn't come with the software we need to make presentations, type our essays or create our reading progress graphs. We need your help!

Students in my class are excited to use and learn with technology.

The things I have added to my room this year have made a dramatic difference in the effort and progress! Imagine that my students are wanting to come in and practice their reading on their iPods! With the software for the Mac, I am hoping to see the same excitement in the writing.
