Help We Need Books!

My students need new nonfiction books. We have a very limited selection of nonfiction books in our class library, and they need more experiences reading these books.

My Students

Have you ever been to a library that had very few books? Well my students have to visit my class library everyday with a very low selection of nonfiction books. These books will expand our library, and allow my students to experience new interesting titles.

My students are from a high poverty area.

They do not have access to many reading materials at home. It is extremely important for me to have a wide variety of text in the room for them to choose from. They love Minecraft, chapter books, and learning about new things. They hunger for more nonfiction text, so that they can expand their knowledge of the world around them.

My Project

Students will use these materials everyday to read, write reports on, and do research with. They will read them for independent reading time, or choose one to use for a report. They will use them to help expand their experiences with nonfiction books, to increase their comprehension skills with nonfiction text, and to share with their classmates.

These books will make a huge difference in my students' lives, because they will be learning new and interesting things from these books.

They will have more nonfiction text to choose from, and they will increase their comprehension skills with nonfiction text by reading these books.
